Congratulations on being named Regional Radio's New Female Vocalist 2012, how does it feel?
Honored!! Honestly, I was just ecstatic to be in the running for it, let alone to win it! That is one feeling I won't ever forget and don't take for granted. I will say that I am extremely blessed to have such a great group of supportive friends, family and fans! That's what makes this all worth it, touching people with your music. Also, with this title it has put a good kind of pressure on me. I strive for perfect and entertaining shows, because now, I feel, there is a standard to uphold.

How did you get your start on the Texas Music scene?
Open mic night! This was pivotal for me as a performer and artist. I have... had rather... a HUGE stage fright problem!! Open mics allowed me to get up the nerve and practice my stage presence and well.. memory too. Also, NETWORKING was a big help for me as well. You don't know anybody unless you get out there and mingle.

What advice would you give to other female singers that are trying to make it in the world of music?
Don't back down. Don't let "them" tell you that you can't do it. But then again, the people that have told me that it can't be done are some of my biggest reasons to keep pushing on. I guess a type of reverse psychology.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?
My dad, Charlie Reynolds, was a musician most his life. He continually gives me advice, pointers and tells me stories of the things he's seen and done. I would also definitely say my husband and two beautiful girls. They are the main reason for me to keep pushing on. They keep my chin up when times get challenging.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Don't let em tell you how you should be, just do what you do.

We absolutely love the song "Coming Home", can you give us a little background about how it came to be?
My husband, Cisco, is a veteran. He served for most of 2003 in Iraq. He left 6 months after we were married, I was 18 and he was 20. I know the things that I had to go through and we didn't even have kids at the time. I admire the women and men at home as well for their hard work to keep things some what "normal" for their kids and family. There is a whole family back home waiting and praying for these soldiers overseas. "Coming Home" was just my way of painting a picture of those family members back at home continuing their day to day life waiting for their soldier to come home.

Is there anything you can't live without on the road?
Ha this could get interesting. I absolutely LOVE beef jerky but really only eat it when on a road trip. lol My ear buds to my phone and Rockstar Energy drinks are usually what keeps me going.

What are a few of the most unique songs/artists that we would find on your MP3 player?
Well, I don't know about unique but there is a wide range of different types and artists in my song choices. Adele to Midnight River Choir, Sean McConnell to the Toadies, Bush, Joey Green, Green Day, LadySmith Black Mambazo (you should totally check out that last group, very cool sound) In short, I like to listen to a lot of different types of music.

Do you have any loves other than music?
My family. My husband, Cisco and my daughters, Tynleigh and Natalie. Most of my time is consumed with music which is alright by me. We also like to hang out with good company, we have a pretty neat group of friends around us.

It would be neat to say sky diving or building rocket ships but ya know... I tend to be scared of heights and everyone says my blonde hair fits me well. So not sure the two last things would work.

What can we expect from you later in 2012?

In the very near future, we will be releasing our third single, "Momma Didn't Raise No Fool". We are really excited to get this one out. It doesn't sound anything like my last two.

Later this year I will be releasing my first full length CD, as with the single, I am SO ready to have this out to the public. During this album, I signed with a publishing company, Winner Circle Country Music Publishing. I did this to help with my style of writing and exploring different sounds that I otherwise wouldn't have.

We are also working with some people on the East coast to get us out in that direction and spread the word of live TEXAS music. We will be in Virginia at the end of July and are ready for more trips out that direction.

Stay tuned..... we are shooting for some good times ahead and even better stories made.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to give us a great interview Heather!! We are excited to see what wonderful things are in store for you. Congratulations again on your win and we look forward to your new single "Momma Didn't Raise No Fool".
